Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or a complete beginner, there is a class for you at Happy Buddha Aruba. From Yin Yoga (longer held positions and more meditative yoga classes) like Deep Stretch to more Yang-style Yoga (dynamic and physically demanding yoga classes) like Hot Flow and Pure Yoga. The studio is home to many different traditions and lineages but our foundation is rooted in Ashtanga Yoga. We believe yoga involves discovering what is best suited to you, so we invite you to explore all of our rich offerings. Classes are 60-75 minutes. All levels are welcome. Ages 4 years and up.
ABSolution (75 min)
Strong ABS are the 'solution' to a solid and safe yoga practice. ABSolution is an unique workout with a self-made playlist that changes every 7-8 weeks. The combination of Pilates, yoga and more athletic dynamic (squats, lunges, burpees and push ups) & deep stretching exercises techniques will sculpt your body in no time. Prepare for some funky music and a good sweat!
Deep Stretch (75 min)
This is an excellent class to de-stress with longer held yoga postures (calming, quieting poses), designed to help you unwind from your working day. It will feel like you just had a 75 min deep tissue massage because this class targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, tendons and joints and stimulate organ health. The postures must be held for 2 – 5 minutes. A common mistake is that this may seem boring, passive, or soft, but it isn't that at all. It's actually quite challenging, physically as well as mentally.
Hot Hatha (75 min)
Our signature Hot Hatha class takes a classical approach according to the sequence as designed by Bikram Choudhury (26 postures including 2 breathing exercises). The postures are designed to increase mobility in the spine, hips, quadriceps and hamstrings. It's 100% Body Workout. Suited for all levels. Hot & Inbound (75 min)
Embrace the heat and stay steady in your flow with the Inbound Series. This sequence is based on Ashtanga and Anusara Yoga. Both more traditional dynamic yoga styles with lots of emphasis on correct alignment. Have fun and enjoy the process of getting stronger, more supple and toned. Prepare to sweat a lot!
Meditation (Hour of Power - 60 min)
Take one hour per week just for yourself. To Recharge. To connect with your Power and to practice different meditation techniques in order to implement all 8 Limbs in Yoga (and if you don't know what we're are talking about then also sign up for the Foundation Course - see sublink).
Vinyasa Flow (75 min)
Vinyasa Flow is a principle from Ashtanga which means synchronized movement. Its based on the idea that the breath is the guide to the practice. Ashtanga is a traditional kind of yoga from Mysore, India, that was introduced to the West 35 years ago by guru Pattabhi Jois. Ashtanga literally means "eight limbs" (the eight spiritual elements of yoga) and is considered a more vigorous dynamic yoga style with deep breathing, use of bhanda's (internal locks) and dristhi (gaze of the eye). In a Vinyasa Flow yoga class we go traditional and work in a set sequence OR we create our own sequence with a theme (focusing on hip opening, backward bending, core stability, etc). As a rule of thumb we'll always start with Sun Salutations and follow up with standing, seated and finishing postures PLUS Savasana.

Power Pilates (60 min)
Join us for this Pilates & Power Yoga class. Classical Pilates exercises are combined with dynamic yoga stretches which results in a powerful fusion class. Appropriate for all levels.
(Hot) Yin-Yasa (75 min)
Perfect mix, the best of both worlds. Meditation and longer held positions (Yin Yoga) for the first part of the class. It's all about softening and surrendering. Second part of the class we turn the heat off, open the windows and move through an all level vinyasa flow yoga practice. We top it off with a delicious Savasana. You'll love it!
